D59B Specialty Coffee
A pioneer of Belgrade's third-wave coffee movement, D59B opened in 2012 and remains an undisputed heavy hitter in the city's specialty coffee scene. Though they moved from their original Dobračina 59b location to a sleeker spot on Kralja Petra, they kept the name and their signature industrial-minimalist aesthetic—think raw, pockmarked concrete walls paired with a pristine white-tiled bar. D59B is unique because it doubles as a cultural hub: the space features a raised platform with turntables where local DJs spin vinyl on weekends, perfectly blending flawless in-house roasted coffee with a cutting-edge electronic music scene.
DRIP Specialty Coffee
Tucked away on the leafy Gospodar Jevremova street in Dorćol, DRIP Specialty Coffee is a masterclass in cozy, community-driven café culture. What it lacks in massive square footage, it more than makes up for with exceptional coffee and some of the most welcoming baristas in the city. The space is bright and inviting, heavily frequented by remote workers, locals, expats, and their dogs. Known for their meticulous pour-overs and signature drinks, DRIP manages to strike the perfect balance between high-end coffee craftsmanship and a relaxed, unpretentious neighborhood vibe.
Kafe Bar Blaznavac
Stepping into Blaznavac is like falling down a surrealist rabbit hole right in the middle of Dorćol. Housed in the 19th-century mansion of a former Serbian politician, this wildly eclectic bar is famous for its maximalist decor—think vintage carriages, neon signs, and life-sized technicolor animal sculptures. The massive, multi-level courtyard garden is an absolute must-visit during the warmer months, offering a vibrant and incredibly fun atmosphere that easily turns an afternoon coffee into a late-night cocktail session.
Red Bar
A beloved institution standing defiant in the middle of Belgrade’s tourist-heavy bohemian quarter. Red Bar has been a sanctuary for alternative youth, locals, and expats since 1996. Spread across multiple floors with two prime terraces overlooking the cobblestones of Skadarlija, it’s loud, unpretentious, and affordable. Expect worn-out furniture, friendly resident cats, a heavy rotation of rock and indie music, and a lively, packed house every night of the week.
Riddle Bar
An upscale, true speakeasy experience hidden in plain sight near the bottom of Skadarlija. Riddle Bar eschews the traditional cocktail menu entirely. Instead, you engage in a conversation with their highly skilled mixologists, detailing your preferred flavor profiles, spirits, and moods, and they custom-build a drink specifically for you. Set in an intimate, dimly lit space on the first floor of an old city building, it is the city's premier destination for serious cocktail aficionados.
Silosi Beograd
Rising like concrete monoliths on the banks of the Danube, the former grain silos of the Port of Belgrade have been transformed into the city's most spectacular open-air cultural center and nightlife hub. Silosi is a sprawling industrial complex featuring massive 20-meter murals, pop-up art galleries, food trucks, and multiple bar areas (including the riverside Ponton). It is the absolute best place in the city to catch a summer sunset with a local craft beer in hand.
